Apprentice
DenMar Electric is always seeking first through fourth year Electrical Apprentices across Vancouver Island. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who is looking to expand their knowledge within the electrical trade.
Responsibilities
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with superiors, coworkers, and other tradespeople
- Interpret and work from spoken instruction, drawings, and schematics
- Use standard construction power tools, pull cable, cut in and splice switches/receptacles/lights
- Troubleshoot electrical faults/issues on both commercial and residential projects
- Maintain safe habits and a clean working environment
- Work at heights, outside, in attics and crawl spaces
Requirements
- ITA Registered apprentice
- Basic hand tool knowledge
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Electrical field experience is an asset
Journeyperson
DenMar Electric is seeking a self-motivated, hardworking, and responsible Electrical Journeyperson. The ideal candidate will have recent, relevant experience in the trade and a skillset that allows this individual to lead a team of electrical apprentices.
Responsibilities
- Communicate instruction effectively to apprentices
- Work with clients to troubleshoot electrical issues while maintaining a positive attitude
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics
- Handle multiple projects at any given time and maintain organization and efficiency
- Troubleshoot electrical faults/issues
- Install different types of both low and regular voltage equipment
- Understand and adhere to CEC requirements
- Safely manage and operate a company vehicle
- Adjust and solve challenges and problems as they arise
- Work at heights, outside, in attics and crawl spaces
Requirements
- Red-Seal Journeyperson Electrician required
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Willingness to work on call, longer shifts, and/or evening shifts as required
- Recent experience working on multi-family residential/commercial projects an asset
