Rick Bayko
General Manager | ContactRick started in the trade in 1989, directly after high school. Over the years, and with his various opportunities of working within BC, Alberta, as well as overseas, Rick has been able to hone his skills in a multitude of areas. From high-rise experience, multi-residential, hotels, large retail stores, the oil and gas industry, all the way to commercial and maintenance work, Rick enjoys the challenge and growth that the opportunity of various projects provides. Rick comes from a family of electricians and in 2003 joined DenMar Electric, to work alongside his parents who were at the helm of the company. After becoming the General Manager of the company, Rick has implemented a wide variety of processes and is proud of the work culture that has been developed and exists today. Rick has enjoyed working as an electrician as well as leading and training others within the trade. His time spent forming relationships with staff, general contractors, customers and suppliers has been extremely rewarding to both himself and the company. Rick holds great passion for his job, however outside of work, Rick enjoys mountain biking, golfing, playing and coaching hockey and spending time with his family.
Darren Hodgson
Operations Manager | ContactDarren has been an integral piece of DenMar Electric since early 2009, when he joined the team as an experienced journeyman. Having been in the trade for extensive years and coming from a family of electricians, Darren has been able to work on a wide variety of projects, both small and large in scale. In 2017, Darren moved from the field to the office, taking on his current role as Project Manager. His skills acquired in the field as well as his exceptional organizational habits allowed for the transition to be almost seamless. As a Project Manager, Darren believes that building strong relationships with customers, general contractors, and other sub-trades is something that sets himself apart from others and allows him to excel at his job. The most memorable moment for Darren during his time at DenMar has been the many social events hosted for the staff, where he was able to get to know his co-workers on more than a work level. In his free time, Darren enjoys golfing, and camping with his wife and 3 kids.
Nicole MacDonald
Financial Operations Manager | ContactNicole began her DenMar Electric career back in 2008, working part-time in an administrative role and helping out around the office when she was needed. After raising her two boys, Nicole moved to a full-time position in 2014, and has since taken on the role of Financial Operations Manager. In her position, Nicole is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the company as well as ensuring proper processes are being followed throughout the entirety of the office. Nicole is detail-oriented and organized, allowing her to excel at her ever-growing position. As work is such a big part of so many of our lives, Nicole strives to make DenMar a welcoming environment for all of our staff members and notes that some of the fondest memories she has of DenMar are those involving socializing with the other members of the team. When she’s not at the office, Nicole enjoys travelling to warm destinations, spending time with her family (mostly the canine members) and baking - we always count on her to bring in a yummy treat to the office!
Graham Davies
Senior Estimator | ContactGraham first began his career with DenMar in 2006 as an apprentice electrician. Graham later joined our office in 2010 and is currently DenMar’s Senior Estimator, bidding on tenders and supporting the projects team. In addition, DenMar relies on his years of experience to assist customers with their electrical budgets and design build projects. Originally trained as an elementary education teacher, Graham started his electrical training later than most but has since acquired his Red Seal and designation as a Master Electrician. As an estimator, he has received his Gold Seal certificate from the Canadian Construction Association. When not at work, Graham enjoys spending time with his wife Sandra and two daughters, Emily and Noelle.
Ryan Crema
Estimator | ContactRyan began at DenMar Electric as a first year apprentice, working the majority of his apprenticeship with the company. In 2013, Ryan became a journeyman and began running various jobs on his own; eventually moving into the office and becoming a Junior Estimator for DenMar Electric in 2019. Ryan stays up-to-date on the latest technologies and brings a new flare to the estimating team at DenMar. When not quoting projects for the company, Ryan also helps out the service department when he is needed. Ryan currently holds his Red Seal and designation as a Master Electrician. Ryan strives to be a dependable and adaptable employee and continues to learn and grow within his position. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys a variety of things; from mountain biking and camping, all the way to catching up on his favourite Netflix shows.
Travis Fox
Project Manager | ContactTravis started with DenMar Electric in 2011 as an apprentice electrician. Travis is now responsible for overseeing all projects and operations within the southern region of Vancouver Island and for ensuring successful completion of each job. He is an ambitious leader known for his strong work ethic, performance management skills and operational excellence on site. Over the past years he has led various projects all over Vancouver Island, ranging from residential condos to commercial buildings, water reservoirs, schools and building automation systems. His highly diversified set of skills combined with his meticulous nature provide him a solid foundation to be the driving force behind our expansion in Victoria. Travis focuses a large part of his position on creating strong working relationships with each aspect of a job, from the customer to the general contractor. Travis also takes great pride in the development of the DenMar Team and works closely with all new members to assure their performance meets the level that DenMar is known for. When not working, you can find Travis riding the many trails that Victoria has to offer on his mountain bike.
Sam Adam
Project Manager | ContactAfter making the move from Calgary to Vancouver Island in 2016, Sam started work with DenMar as a journeyman. Focusing mostly on new builds and tenant improvements throughout his time at DenMar, Sam has been able to focus a large portion of his mindset on customer satisfaction – going the extra mile to ensure the best possible finished product. In 2022, Sam moved into the office taking on the role of Service and Projects Estimator. In this new role, Sam is able to use his versatile background and knowledge of the trade to assist the estimating team. When not working, Sam stays pretty busy with his 3 kids, but does try to fit in a rugby game whenever he can. Sam also enjoys camping with his family and exploring Vancouver Island.
Jeremy Bruessler
Service Manager | ContactJeremy had worked for over 14 years in the electrical trade when he first joined our team at DenMar Electric in 2015. Hired as a journeyman, Jeremy has worked in both the residential and commercial sides of the trade. Being a part of large projects has allowed him to utilize both his electrical skills and his leadership skills. In 2021, Jeremy made the jump from the field to the office, where he is now quickly settling into his new role as Service Manager. Jeremy’s people skills and vast knowledge of the industry allow him to excel while assisting both new and returning customers within the service department. As a second-generation electrician, Jeremy currently holds a Master Electrician designation as well as his FSR B. When not working, Jeremy dedicates his time to volunteering on construction projects all across Vancouver Island. Jeremy also enjoys camping, hiking, and exploring Vancouver Island with his family.
Ben Brethour
Service Advisor | ContactBen has been a part of the DenMar Electric team since 2012, when he began his electrical apprenticeship. After his electrical schooling, Ben quickly grew into a well-established journeyman within the company, working mainly on commercial spaces and custom homes in the Central and Northern Island. Before his time at DenMar, Ben spent 11 years in the construction industry, working across various aspects of the building procurement. In 2020, Ben made the jump to the office and became a Service Advisor. With his strong background in customer service and a demeanour geared towards listening to his customers, Ben has been able to excel in this position. In his position, Ben is responsible for scheduling and coordinating installs, producing quotes for customers as well as resolving customer concerns. When Ben isn’t busy in our Service Department, he enjoys camping, playing with his dogs and working on anything that has a motor in it.
Celine Ruel
Service Co-Ordinator | ContactCeline became part of the DenMar team in September 2023, bringing over 25 years of diverse customer service expertise. Over the last decade, she focused on the trucking industry, engaging in tasks ranging from dispatching to invoicing. Seeking a change, Celine joined our team and swiftly embraced the sense of family it provides. While she is new, the camaraderie is already evident. Previously a single mother to two wonderful young men, both now starting their adult lives with partners, Celine finds joy in her role as a parent. Outside of work, she indulges in her passion for cooking and baking for loved ones. Additionally, her recent interests include immersing herself in jigsaw puzzles and diamond painting.
Cristina Gal
Project Co-ordinator | ContactNew to the DenMar Team, Cristina brings with her 15+ years of experience in administration and customer service in various disciplines, including human resources, invoicing, and safety. Cristina is a highly organized person who appreciates efficiency and accuracy. In her spare time, she enjoys learning about history and is an avid genealogist. She and her husband moved to Vancouver Island in 2017 to explore new sites and enjoy new experiences.
